Social Media 

Facebook seems to be one of the professional and effective platforms to spread the brand wider to the pubic by tagging on collaborations, online ads, sponsored ads. However, I don’t see my brand growing in this community that good. The platform layout is not made for aesthetic purposes as Instagram.

I’ve made an Instagram account @dadalevine. This is my personal account. It is on the transition from personal to a mixture of a personal and professional account. There are approximately 5000 followers on this channel. A good base to recreate and revive the account. Instagram is the best social media to promote your brand on online because of its friendly access to every account and post.

Youtube is a growing platform. More people using youtube in the UK and Vietnam, which are 2 target places I am focusing on. Video is an interesting medium to demonstrate 360 degrees view for your ideas and products unlike the photo.

 I already tried to open a new INSTAGRAM account for my work only and i don't really think it is an effective way to promote my brand. And I’ve always planned to use my personal account for my brand account and I might not change it. Because, first, I want to promote myself as a creative director (photography) and a fashion influencer who also has her own retail platform. Therefore, by having too much social media, in this case, is 3, will confuse the viewers. Second, by using it as my personal and professional channel, it sophisticatedly demonstrates the process of how does my personal style affects my practice. I research some CDs and professionals who do the same such as Rick Owens, Lotta Volkova. By that, it gives the audience a good understanding of their manifesto, life philosophy, personal style. Therefore, the brand image will be stand out from others. This is the direction I aim to follow. I will use the platform as a trend forecasting channel, mood and inspiration board, and work gallery.

I HAVE BEEN USING WIX FOR 2 YEARS AND ALSO TRIED WEEBLY, WORDPRESS AND SQUARE SPACE. I PREFER WIX BECAUSE IT IS EASIER AND IT PROVIDES MORE COMPLEX TOOLS TO DESIGN DIFFERENT OUTCOMES. THEY ALSO OFFER DISCOUNT FOR BUYING A COMBO OF WEBSITE, DOMAIN AND MAILBOX. 

I already upgraded my Wix website to business premium website. Therefore, to compare with the basic plan + G suite, it is cheaper to create professional contact.

However, I dont think it is nessary to create one for now.  I need to invest my money on the essential needs.  I’ll consider a business e-mail when my business grows. I will use my personal google email: LEVINEDANG@GMAIL.COM

​​Brand's and Professional's Website & Instagram

1. Brands 

I researched different usages of website for fashion brands and agencies. Comme Des Garcons website is used as a mood board without any trading activities, so they reduce the information that is not the brand's essential and decorative design element.

Moving to Rick Owens, the online website is easy to use with minimal design such as compostion, graphic and hint. therefore, the website allows the products  speak for themselves due to the garment sophisticated designs and silhouttes.the website is a trading platform and also a blog or and archive of the brand. it includes the product for sale in the current season and all of the previous collections. in the archive section, there is personal experiences and activities of the creative directors that relevant to the brand image. Instagram is the only social connection to the website. it is also used as the personal social media of the brand’s creative director aka founder. no press post. the mixture between digital camera quality photo and iphone quality image.

2. Professionals

Some professionals don't include their website/ online portfolio on their social media such as Ha Do (Dep magazine's Creative Director, Lotta Volkova (Freelance Stylist). However, there is the similarity  in these professionals is they are using their personal social media account to be a platform to upload their works or link their website.

Curating Website Presentation & Content

2-CONTENT

 THE FASHION WORKS IN MY 3 -YEAR-EXPERIENCE WILL BE INCLUDED. ALSO, I WILL CURATE ALL OF MY UNI WORKS AND PERSONAL PROJECTS. I NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE AESTHETIC OF THESE WORK WILL MEET THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENT SUCH AS GOOD QUALITY, PROPER CREDIT, STRONG AND POWERFUL VISUAL, EMPHASIZE MY SPECIALISM.

It is easy for me to look back to my uni works and personal works archives, because I organise them nicely  in my hardrive not my laptop. a hardrive is a save device to archive your work. I think I’ll use 80% works from my uni life and all of my personal projects. Eventhough, I always try to produce my uni work with professional outcome, so I save my time and effort to also use it as my personal project, not all the projects fit my current aesthetics and direction I focus on. 

 

I started to think about and create my online website 2 years ago. It is hard at that time to categogise what you have because the amount of work was not diverse. Also you are not sure what pathway you are going to demonstrate in the online website. Is it photography, PR, styling, etc. It take me 3 months to dig into different source that I have and create more content to put in the website. 

 

I usally change and re-design my website every 6 months to catch the development of the virtual world. I need to research about the most interactive and creative method to use for the website. However, there is a lack of promotion for it. I should think about how to use instagram post and story to show my website and project photos.
